Για να μείνετε γρήγορα έγκυος θα πρέπει να έχετε υπολογίσει τη γόνιμη μέρα σας και να αξιοποιήσετε το συγκεκριμένο 24ώρο. Στις περισσότερες γυναίκες η γόνιμη μέρα τους είναι η 14η ημέρα του κύκλου.

Σε περίπτωση που έχετε άστατη περίοδο αγοράστε ένα τεστ ωορηξίας.

Μη σηκώνεστε αμέσως από το κρεβάτι μετά τη σεξουαλική επαφή. Μείνετε ξαπλωμένη για τουλάχιστον 5 λεπτά.

Αποφύγετε τους πολλούς καφέδες, το αλκοόλ και το τσιγάρο.

Μη χρησιμοποιείτε αρωματικά ταμπόν γιατί συχνά επηρεάζουν το PH της ευαίσθητης περιοχής και έτσι μειώνονται οι πιθανότητες να φθάσει το σπέρμα στο ωάριο.

Σε περίπτωση που είσαστε κάτω των 30 ετών και προσπαθείτε για πάνω από ένα χρόνο ίσως είναι προτιμότερο να συμβουλευτείτε το γιατρό σας.

Επίσης αν είσαστε άνω των 35 ετών ή ο κύκλος σας διαρκεί περισσότερο από 35 ημέρες και τότε ίσως είναι καλύτερο να συμβουλευτείτε το γιατρό σας.

The experts say the key to conceiving is to know when you are fertile and to know when to get help. Most women ovulate on day 14 of their menstrual cycle and there's about a 24-hour window of opportunity for a sperm to fertilize the egg. It's better to have sex in the days leading up to the ovulation since sperm can live in your reproductive tract for about two to three days. (It actually takes the fertilized egg between two to four days to travel to the uterus and attach itself to the uterine lining. Then you're pregnant!)

If you're serious about conceiving you need to keep a calendar. Track the day your period begins and how many days it lasts. Unless you have a perfect 28-day cycle your ovulation day may not be day 14 of your menstrual cycle. You may need to purchase an ovulation tester; fortunately there are many affordable ones on the market.

There's no conclusive scientific evidence but it's believed that the "missionary position" is conducive to conception, especially with a pillow under the woman's hips. Avoid going to the bathroom or getting up for five minutes after making love. Some experts actually recommend staying in the position for a half an hour.

Your basal temperature is your body's temperature at rest. Take it first thing in the morning. When you are ovulating your temperature will rise between 0.5 and 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, changes in vaginal mucus indicate impending fertility. Look for a discharge of clear secretions.

Consider your diet. It is suspected, although not proven conclusively, that caffeine is a fertility inhibitor. Seafood increases blood levels of mercury which has been linked to fertility problems.

Alcohol and smoking can inhibit conception and obviously should be avoided during pregnancy. Certain medications can also affect your ability to conceive. Schedule a preconception planning appointment with your doctor to discuss your medications.

Don't use scented tampons or douche; both can causes PH imbalances and/or wash away mucus that is needed to get the sperm to the egg.

A common myth is that it is bad for a father-to-be to wear briefs. This actually doesn't decrease his sperm count. However, he should avoid hot baths and Jacuzzis.

It is recommended that you seek help if you are under 30 years of age and have been trying for one year or more to conceive. If you are over 35 years of age OR have a menstrual cycle longer than 35 days you should also consider seeking help.
